It is 576 CY ⊳ The County of Sunndi, a century after rebelling against the Malachite Throne faces a brewing storm unlike any before. Chaos gnaws at the land from within—restless dead, maddened beasts, and long formed allies disappear. The Count, sensing the looming threat, summons the bravest to defend the home they fought so hard to free.
Living Chronicles! is a living campaign. You share the world with dozens of adventurers - each of which is a real player. It is the ultimate forum for collaboration.
I would suggest you to head on over to our game support channel and simply tag @PlayerMentor to guide you through this process, it is so much easier and faster to do this as a conversation, but if you don't mind reading, soldier on!
Let me give you the lay of the land. Playing online can be very convenient - or perhaps the only way you can play. Specially if you live in an area where the gaming spaces are far, or games far too infrequent.
There are strengths to online play - tools that make our life playing the game much easier. Allowing us to focus on the fun parts without getting lost in the sauce.
Here is a list of stuff you will need to play online:
The minimum requirements. A non-archaic computing device with browsing capabilities, a steady internet connection, and a serviceable mic. If you already use google meet or zoom, you are good to go. 👍
Tools in order of priority. Discord → D&D Beyond. If you are new to these tools we have tutorials on how to use them, in the tool tutorials section above.
Culture run-down. A code of conduct, as well as common lingo used in online communities.
Setting Information. Information about the world, on gods, the magic system, death and resurrection etc. basically answering the questions: What kind of fantasy? What is your role in the fantasy? What is the cool stuff you can do and how?
We will assume you meet the minimum requirements, and guide you step by step through the rest of the process.
This section is for new blood. New players who have not played a lot of D&D or for players who have not been part of living campaigns before.

For all the above to function smoothly we use collection of online tools and rules. We mainly rely on four tools to play this game, out of which VTTs are optional to learn about.
Click on any of them to learn more about them: Discord, DDB Beyond. VTTs
This section introduces players to the table etiquette as well as the regular jargon.

You get access to the D&D24 books by joining the campaign links (part of character creation). Do checkout the official source books for cool art, magic items, and more!
This section goes over the steps for become an adventurer. Starting from character creation to picking art, and then creating character tokens from that art.
We recommend using any browser before continuing on with the guide.

We do not condone the use of AI art in our server. However, there is a certain finesse and style that human art achieves that is not reproducible. We also recommend giving credit to the artist, you can do that in the character post over on our discord.
When using character art on VTTs you will need a token, you can follow this guide to quickly make one: Tokens
Your character was magically teleported to Sunndi from one of the corners of the world, this happened as flames nearby you erupted and burnt you away. Feel free to create a backstory around this incident, as this is basically almost an isekai situation where you leave everything behind. This event was called the Sundering.

This section goes over the setting relevant information. This includes information that a player should know about the world. Questions like: What is the magic system of the world? What are gods and how much do they involve themselves? What is the life of different people like? What is death? What is soul? etc.
You will find the next steps over on discord. Anything from creating a player character post to doing text-based role-play - as well as any server mechanics. All in one place.
Hey! You are done with everything big. Now it’s just getting you hooked up to some games and how to go about playing in the new place. The hard part’s over! See you at the quest board.
